The Miracles Of Smell And Taste is a book chapter written by someone who is described as an Islamic Creationist. I became interested in the chapter when I read about its author: “He is a complete and utter ignoramus,” says Richard Dawkins, an evolutionary biologist and Oxford University professor. Since Dawkins’ gene-centric view and atheistic diatribes attest to his ignorance of evolutionary biology, I thought it would be interesting to learn more about why a college dropout turned theorist of Islamic creationism, is working on the fifth volume of a 14-part masterwork that he says will bury Darwinism once and for all. Is it Adnan Oktar or Richard Dawkins who is a complete and utter ignoramus? And what might name-calling have to do with genetics, religious beliefs, science, or an evidence-based understanding of the sense of smell?
1) The Richard Dawkins Foundation (US) Mission Statement (with my emphasis): “Our mission is to support scientific education, critical thinking and evidence-based understanding of the natural world in the quest to overcome religious fundamentalism, superstition, intolerance and human suffering.”
2) An experimental test on the probability of extinction of new genetic variants reports on experiments that refute the concept of mutation-driven evolution in its entirety. Mutations are not fixed in the genome of the model organism C. elegans, and no other experiments have ever been done in an attempt to show mutations are fixed in the DNA of any organized genome in any species from microbes to man.”
Q. What does it mean when scientists report results from experiments that show “…diversity could be maintained indefinitely, without one allele or the other ever being fixed in the population. Ivo Chelo explains: “Our data suggests that the value a new allele brings to the individuals is not fixed.”
A. It means there is no such thing as mutation-driven evolution. Fixation of new alleles must occur or new alleles cannot alter the course of evolution. If mutations cannot alter the course of evolution, is Dawkins an ignoramus for his belief in evolutionary theory?
3) “Nutrient-dependent/pheromone-controlled adaptive evolution: a model” is akin to The Miracles Of Smell And Taste. It is another clear refutation of mutation-driven evolution. Since we now know that mutations are never “fixed” in the DNA of organized genomes in any species, the refutations become clearer. In my model new alleles are epigenetically fixed via experience-dependent smell and taste – driven changes in intercellular signaling, intranuclear interactions, and non-random stochastic de novo creation of olfactory receptor genes in species from microbes to man. Substitute Biblical or Islamic “Creation” for de novo “creation” and you have what Adnan Oktar calls a miracle. Why does Richard Dawkins call him an ignoramus? Perhaps it is because biological facts are of no use to atheists who do not believe in Creation, but believe in mutation-driven evolution despite the fact there has never been any evidence from a scientific experiment to support the theory, which does not include biological facts.
Q. Where does that leave Richard Dawkins and his evidence-based understanding of the natural world?
A. It leaves him with no evidence whatsoever to support his ridiculous theories and name-calling.
